FakeLoveMusic presents: DANCE DANGEREUX XIX with LADYTRON DJ Set feat Reuben Wu + METRO TOKYO  + Special Guest

Saturday, 2013/03/23  @ Migas, 10pm, 140 RMB door / 90 RMB presale

presale at Cafe Zarah, Migas & www.smartbeijing.com/smartticket/)

On the 19th edition of Dance Dangereux we are VERY proud to present you a LADYTRON DJ Set.

Ladytron were one of the biggest acts in the electroclash scene of the early 2000s, releasing five albums since 1999 (and there’s another due out this year).  Hits like “Seventeen” or “Destroy Everything you touch” along with LADYTRON´s  future-retro-chic influenced a generation of music producers designers,  video-directors and artschool students between London, Berlin, Paris, New York and, yes, China- Ladytron was probably the first electro-band setting foot into the Middle Kingdom. Founding member Reuben Wu comes to Beijing to play records at FakeLoveMusic´s hugely popular Dance Dangereux part series at Migas on March 23. Given Ladytron’s output, we can only expect a painfully cool mix of new wave, techno pop, electro and punk, served up with a rock ‘n’ roll attitude and plenty of wit. Arty kids, cool kids, men who wear make-up, and cute girls who like to dance this one’s for you.

FakeLoveMusic presents: NOVA HEART CHINA TOUR

When Nova Heart was playing the Iceland Airwaves Festival on their first extended European tour last fall, David Fricke, legendary senior editor for Rolling Stone Magazine wrote about them:

“A delightful shock from China . . .a sly variant on Seventies New Wave: a dynamic singer, Helen Feng, who bears a strong vocal resemblance to Blondie’s Debbie Harry, fronting a White Stripes-style rhythm section – male guitarist, wicked female drummer – that threaded loops and programming through heavy blues and dance floor rhythms . . . my first best of the fest.”

Bringing home a dump truck full of blogger love and music insider praise, Nova Heart returned to the PRC in November and continued with some domestic appreciation winning a Midi Award for best female rock singer. But before any more ego fodder led to unnecessary douche-baggery, the band was promptly locked into the studio with no food or water, on a mission to write some new tracks for their first upcoming full length album. Said tracks will get their stress-test debut on February 22nd at YGYS to be followed by a full China tour. Be there at one of their rare shows in Beijing.
