Mike Simonetti

Biography

Formerly a true hardcore kid, Mike DJed literally all legendary NYC clubs in the late 80s early 90s including Palladium, The Tunnel, Save The Robots, Soul Kitchen, The Red Zone, Building, NASA, The Limelight and Mars where he worked as a promoter. After the  NYC club craze was over and basically all clubs closed he found Troubleman Records releasing such seminal bands as Erase Errata, Glass Candy, Black Dice, Death Comet Crew, Wolf Eyes, Pixeltan, Chromatics, The Walkmen, Devendra Banhart. In 2006, Mike started a sub-label based on a blog. The Italians Do It Better website was only meant to be a fun blog for disco record collectors, but it has become one of the most influential labels of this millenium getting props from Karl Lagerfeld to Pitchfork. At the same time  Mike stayed  100% DIY and collected more musical knowledge under his little pinkies fingernail then most people in their whole life.
