BIOGRAPHY
Founder of Beijing´s first Disco DJ collective The Three Discoteers, Metro Tokyo grew up in a small town close to Düsseldorf and Cologne, the heart of Germany´s electronic history. It was here where avantgarde composer Karl Heinz Stockhausen first experimented with electronic sounds, Kraftwerk was founded, and the famous Kompakt label took root. But it was also, where Germany´s punk movement manifested itself.
While he soaked in the influences of this environment he also longed for inspiration in far away places. A three month stay in Buenos Aires not only influenced him musically but also convinced him to study Latin American studies which in turn brought him to travel a lot of Latin America (including Cuba, Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Chile, Bolivia and Argentina) as well as to do some research in San Diego for nine months.
In 2009 he finally moved to Beijing where he cofounded the music agency FakeMusicMedia (FMM) and music label FakeLoveMusic (FLM) and fell in love with Chinese Disco Dancing while meeting an Italo Disco producer from Rome. Since then he has Djed from Brooklyn to Berlin and Buenos Aires to Beijing and opened for numerous well-known international Djs (e.g. Peter Hook of New Order, Little Boots, Holy Ghost!, Mike Simonetti, Bottin, Rodion, French Horn Rebellion, Munk, Daniel Wang, Acid Washed, Moullinex, Wolfram etc.)
He also hosts China´s first Paris-style disco & house night called Dance Dangereux and has Djed for brands such as Porsche, Rlife (Marriott) or The New Italian Design
The beginning of his music career already started in the mid- 90s. Starting as a guitar player in a german punkrockband at age 15, he quickly move on into concert promotion , only to become a radiohost and DJ, first in Cologne (2002) then in San Diego, California, where he was cofounder of Achtung Radio (2004). Since 2007 he pioneered in bringing some of Europe´s most acclaimed electronic artists to China including Mediengruppe Telekommander, Jeans Team, Pitchtuner, Jahcoozi, Golden Bug, Daniel Wang, Gudrun Gut etc. From 2008 to 2010 he was also the manager of Pet Conspiracy, who under his guidance become China´s seminal electronic band until lead singer Helen Feng left the band. Now he is managing Helen´s new project Nova Heart, for which he booked a tour in 4 continents in 6 months – the first such tour for a chinese artist ever.
He soon will go on his second Asia tour.
